Welcome to the treatment room of Tessa Pitt (Babtac, IHBC, VTCT) Health and Beauty Therapist and Reflexologist.  I am able to offer you the following therapies and treatments in the most relaxing and tranquill of surroundings.

Holistic Massage/Therapeutic Bodywork: True Holistic Massage is an individually tailored treatment and treats each client as unique and the body as a whole.  The holistic massage focuses on the emotional and physical wellbeing of the client.  A wide range of strokes and holds will include a wide variety of massage strokes, gentle stretches, relaxation and deep tissue work.  The reasons for this become clear during treatment, the tissues are moved around, working through the skin to get to the muscles underneath, using compression, vibration and percussion, this can improve circulation to the skin and muscles and can encourage specific muscle release.  In this way many conditions relating to tension, stress, posture, and lifestyle can be improved, along with helpful advice on stretching and individual exercises. The holistic massage therapist will work with the client and their requirements using an individual approach not just a set massage routine.

Reflexology treatment.  This ancient relaxing therapy can help restore imbalances in the body caused by stress and illness.  An initial consultation and case history is taken and treatment plan is discussed. Reflexology offers a safe, gentle, treatment which is non invasive and druge free.  It has been found to provide relief for a variety of conditions such as stress, tension, asthma, high blood pressure, heartburn, stomach disorders, PMS, anxiety and insomnia, all of which are worsened by stress.

Aromatherapy. A relaxing massage treatment using essential oils. Individual consultation and aromatherapy blends used which the client takes home to use in-between treatments to continue the benefits.

Reflexology Information

 The Concepts of Reflexology

Imagine that the body is divided into 10 longitudinal zones, from the top of the head to the feet.  Each of these zones is connected , and the equilibrium of the entire zone depends on the free flowing of energy.  Tension in one part of the zone affects the entire zone.

Similarly applying pressure to an area in the hand or feet can release the tension in the relevant zone and restore equilibrium.  The body map above helps reflexologists identify the correct area of the body to treat.

Can Reflexology Help Me?

Reflexology offers a safe, gentle, treatment which is non-invasive and drug free. It has been found to provide relief for a variety of conditions such as stress, tension, constipation, headaches, low energy, asthma, high blood pressure, heartburn and stomach disorders, PMS, anxiety and insomnia. Stress is a major contributor to illness,  and reflexology can enable to body to take a break from stress by applying pressure to targeted zones on the feet or hands, thereby general relaxation can be achieved.

 What Will I Feel?

Your Reflexologist will discuss your medical history with you and discuss any contra-indications to treatment.

During the treatment you should experience feelings of relaxation.  The pressure applied to your feet and hands should be comfortable and pleasant. The therapist will not attempt to diagnose medical conditions, but rather will work on the entire zones of the feet as a whole treatment.  Many different techniques  will be used  such as thumb and finger walking, rotating,  and massage.

The therapist may use massage cream, oils or talc depending on your choice.
