About me:
Elaine has been in practice since 1998, initially as an intern in the Chiropractic College Clinic in Bournemouth, and since graduating has been practicing in the West Country.
The Anglo European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth is where Elaine completed her bachelor’s degree in 1998 and then her master’s degree in 1999. The college is internationally recognised and one of the oldest chiropractic colleges in Europe.
Since graduating Elaine has engaged in ongoing education and has gained the qualification of Doctor of Chiropractic and completed a two year postgraduate course in cranial work which is now a special area of interest for her in her practice.
With a wide range of techniques to offer, each treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual.
Chiropractic:
Chiropractic is a method of working with the body to relieve the physical stresses that can be present in the body due to a number of possible factors, including injury (whiplash, falls, sporting injuries, sprains, muscle strain, etc.), repetitive strain, poor postural habits, or a combination of several of these.
This relief of physical stresses is achieved through the mobilization of any locked joints and releasing the tight muscles associated with these joints thus, allowing the body to move freely and without pain. This also allows the body’s self repair mechanisms to function more efficiently.
Many people also benefit from cranial work, which gently releases restricted joints and tissues in the skull and though out the spine. It is particularly helpful for headaches, face, jaw and neck pain, and chronic sinus congestion, but because the supportive tissues inside the skull are continuous with those of the spine, the whole back benefits from this method.
Chiropractic is suitable for all age groups, but if you are suffering from a condition which will not benefit from chiropractic you will be referred to another healthcare professional for the treatment of your specific condition. If there is any evidence of more serious health problems in the medical history or physical examination which is part of the initial consultation, patients are referred back to their GP.
